Our Pitch for the Advertisement

Pitch #1:  Advertisement about shoes, Multiple jump cuts of someone doing sports while wearing said shoes.

I would be interested in filming this pitch. I think the action cuts while the athlete is doing sports would look very good in the final product. Additionally, being able to film this in a park is beneficial, as we already have a park nearby in mind. My concern is that we may require to do some tracking shots, which may prove difficult with our novice filmmaking skills.

Pitch #2: Ad about sports drink: A boy got done with a sport of choice and he is tired and dehydrated, and then drinks a sports drink.

I would be interested in filming this pitch as well. You could employ similar shots from pitch #1 into this pitch, like those action shots. We can also film this pitch in a park. I like this pitch better because we have greater flexibility in what kind of shots we can use. I feel that presenting a sports drink would be easier than a pair of shoes. It would also be much easier to acquire a bottle of sports drink contrasted to a pair of sports shoes. We can be more creative in how we interpret and apply this pitch. Overall, think both pitches are doable, but pitch #2 would be easier.

Our conversation:

At first, we were not sure which pitch we were going to go with. We considered many factors, such as the length of the advertisement and how we would format the ad. Arguments for pitch 1 were that the production quality would be higher, at the expense of higher difficulty. Members of the group proposed that pitch 2 would be a lot more efficient. As well as being less demanding for the editing portion.

Decision: We decided to go with pitch 2, the ad about the boy that is tired from a sport, and then drinks the sport drink and feels rehydrated.
