Filming Blog
My phone overheated at times, and I had to pause filming till it cooled down. It luckily cooled down rather quickly, As I put it in the cooler along with some icepacks that were there.
Since we had acquired 5 bottles of Gatorade, each of a different color, I had to film one of the scenes multiple times, with each of the colors. This is to ensure whichever shot ends up being used to make sense in conjunction with the previous scene. (The actor can’t be thrown an orange Gatorade, and in the next scene drink a blue one.) This was an oversight that could have been avoided if we had specified to acquire multiple bottles of Gatorade all of the same color.
The final shot in which the player scores took around three to four takes to get right, primarily as the player kept missing due to the position the camera was in. This shot was particularly challenging. I had to push the tripod all the way back into the corner of the net, and use 0.6 lens on my phone (wide angle lens) to capture both actors. It was very awkward to press play on the camera through the net, and even at full brightness the screen appeared black at most angles. With some persistence we were able to film a shot we were happy with. After I reviewed the footage in an editing software, it appears there is no need to refilm any of the scenes.
